Roisin McGlone is an experienced Human Rights activist and Independent Consultant with a long-standing commitment to peacebuilding, reconciliation, and social justice. She previously served as Senior Project Manager at the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation and Chief Executive Officer of Interaction Belfast, where she worked closely with the police, and with republican and loyalist former combatants, to promote meaningful inter-community and inter-agency dialogue in a deeply divided society.

Her work in Belfast has informed her contribution to conflict transformation initiatives internationally, including in Croatia, North Macedonia, Guyana, the United States, and South Africa. Roisin has held several significant public appointments, including membership of the Civic Forum, serving as an Assistant Boundary Commissioner for Belfast, and acting as an independent member of the Northern Ireland Policing Board.

Roisin holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy in Reconciliation Studies from the Irish School of Ecumenics at Trinity College Dublin. Alongside her professional and academic experience, she brings important lived experience to the Truth Recovery Independent Panel's work, including her experience as a birth mother, having spent time in Marianville MBI during her first pregnancy.

This combination of professional expertise and personal insight continues to inform her passion, and commitment to highlighting complex and sensitive issues, which are part of our country’s dark past.
